Great to see Russell's fabulous version of the Christmas song 'Do You Hear What I Hear' going into the Billboard's Adult Contemporary airplay chart at no 21

Following Thanksgiving, seven more Christmas-themed carols debut on Billboard's Adult Contemporary airplay chart (dated Dec. 9),
bringing the current total of seasonal songs on the 30-position survey to 11.
Seal's "Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow" bows (boughs?) at No. 18, followed by Gwen Stefani's "You Make It Feel Like Christmas" (No. 19);
 Russell Watson's "Do You Hear What I Hear" (No. 21);
Below is an explanation of how the chart works

The Adult Contemporary chart measures total weekly plays, as tabulated by Nielsen Music, among its reporting panel of 84 AC stations.
Each year, even before Thanksgiving, much of the AC panel begins transitioning to playing holiday music 24/7 through Christmas, a trend that
began around the early 2000s. Since then, 20 seasonal songs have topped the AC chart (with newly released holiday titles or those being promoted
to the format for the first time eligible for the survey).

What a superb way to finish our Serenade tour !!! Thank you Cannock πŸ™ massive thanks to everyone who came along and supported us in Durham, Lincoln, Harlow, Hereford, Lancaster, Ulverston, Mold Runcorn and of course tonight in Cannock πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘ xx
27th Sept.
It was an amazing night of music and laughter at Ulverston, Russell was on top form, his voice soaring to shake the rafters. Among the songs were 'This is The Moment',' Empty Chairs',a sublime 'Bring Him Home','Serenade' which was fabulous, and showing the power in his voice he sang 'Una Furtiva Lagrima' without using the microphone, awesome.

Ulverston was the birthplace of Stan Laurel and Russell had a bit of fun telling everyone how much he admired Laurel & Hardy and proceeded to give his account of one of their sketches and that led to a duet of 'The Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia' with Richard John the pianist, it was hilarious and had the audience in stitches. At the end of the concert there was much stamping of feet and applause ,Russell came back and did  a number of encores with the audience giving him a standing ovation...What a night.Russell well and truly deserves his name 'The Voice'.

26th Sept.
The concert at Lancaster was wonderful one song after the other showing the power in Russell's voice ,the highlight of the night for me was 'E Lucevan Le Stelle',Russell explained to the audience that it was the first time in 10 years that he felt fit enough vocally and physically to sing it on stage.
'Serenade' which was fabulous came a close 2nd,as always he had a varied repertoire, ranging from 'E Sara Cosi' and 'Intermezzo' to  'When we Were Young' and 'Moon River',he dedicated 'Fix You' to the victims of the Manchester bombing which  brought tears to many, there was Nat King Coles 'Nature Boy', and note perfect 'Bring Him Home' and a song which I hadn't heard before 'Here's To Life',it was beautiful.
As always there was the interaction with the audience with 'San Francisco' and 'Volare' .Russell was accompanied on the piano by Richard John.
Russell thoroughly deserved all the applause and standing ovations throughout the night and it seemed that nobody wanted him to stop singing but he eventually finished with 'When We Were Young'. It was an amazing night and a very appreciative audience. Best of all was I had another concert to look forward to the following night at Ulverston.

A glowing review for Russell's concert at Ulverston by Trevor Jones for Cumbria Live.

REVIEW: Opera superstar Russell Watson gave Ulverston night to remember
IT'S not every day an act like Russell Watson appears on your doorstep.
So it was a privilege to attend his concert at The Coronation Hall, in Ulverston, on Friday night.
The word on the street was this was the quickest ever show to sell out at the celebrated old venue. Quite an achievement for the Manchester tenor to have on his CV along with performing for the Queen, the Pope and a couple of United States Presidents.

On the Classic Fm Ultimate chart there are some interesting comments along with the artists chart positions, this is with Russell's album The Voice
at no 2

Russell Watson-The Voice
Russell Watson’s debut also gave the singer his official nickname - simply, The Voice.
As one of the music world’s first and most important crossover artists, bridging the gap between classical arias and a more operatic brand of pop, Watson’s influence is difficult to overstate.
His powerhouse voice flits across the genres effortlessly, and the result on the album’s initial release was an equally powerful sales performance, cementing Watson as a household name.
and this is with Reprise at no 25
Russell Watson-Reprise was the third album from superstar tenor Russell Watson and was released in 2002, soon after his stratospheric rise to fame. This album brought Russell’s trademark mix of classical favourites and lighter music – so on this album you’ll find Bizet’s Pearl Fishers Duet rubbing shoulders with ‘That’s Amore’, and ‘Recondita armonia’ from Puccini’s Tosca is alongside Russell’s interpretation of Queen’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’. A genre-defying album of great tunes.

23rd Aug.
Over the years Russell has received many awards and accolades(such as 'Rear of the Year') as well as topping many charts with his albums. Many of these are not too well known but they can be seen here in detail on the 'THIS AND THAT' page, including details of his many gold/silver & platinum albums

Last night Russell's concert at the Clyde Auditorium (Armadillo) in Glasgow was cancelled around 7pm due to a fire which broke out during rehearsal, smoke was seen and the fire service were called and were still there at 10pm.Fans arriving for the concert were turned away and told  to contact the venue regarding ticket refunds etc.
Russell put a message on Twitter and Facebook.
Russell Watson 17 hrs ·
It is with huge regret that due to a fire at The Clyde Auditorium this evening's performance has to be cancelled. The fire service are currently on site and we have been advised by the venue it is unsafe to enter the building. The important thing is that everyone has been evacuated and is safe. We will of course keep you updated on any developments. All ticket holders will be contacted by the venue.

Hayley has also put this on Facebook
Russell and the team are all really disappointed about last night, but unfortunately it was a situation completely beyond our control. Thanks to the quick response from the security staff and crew at the SECC, Russell his team & all venue staff were safely evacuated. The fire service did a sterling job bringing the fire under control. The venue, promoters and management will of course make every effort to reschedule, but the most important thing yesterday was safety. Thank you for your support and understanding. As soon as we have more information we will of course let people know. Team Watson xx

There are lots of newspapers  including The Herald  reporting the fire

A spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has told The Herald that, at 5.58pm, the service was alerted to a building on fire in the city’s Exhibition Way.
He said: “A total of four fire appliances, including an aerial appliance, were mobilised to the scene.
“Firefighters wearing protective breathing apparatus tackled the flames externally with the aid of powerful hoses.
“The fire has been brought under control, however, crews remain at the scene to check for hotspots and to ensure the ventilation of the building.”
Police Scotland also added: “No one was injured and the fire has been extinguished.”

Also the BBC

Singer Russell Watson was forced to cancel a concert in Glasgow after a fire broke out at the venue.
The star was among people evacuated from the Scottish Event Campus' (SEC) Armadillo on Saturday evening.
In a tweet he said there was "smoke bellowing from the back of the venue".
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said they were called to a small fire at around 18:00 but it later spread to external cladding. They added that no one was hurt in the incident.

This is glowing a review from The Reviews Hub for Russell's first concert on his tour at Birmingham Symphony Hall

Russell Watson and his Orchestra – Symphony Hall, Birmingham
Posted by: The Reviews Hub -
Reviewer:  Selwyn Knight
Russell Watson was famously discovered singing Presley covers in northern Working Men’s clubs. When a club secretary suggested he have a go at Nessun Dorma and, despite Watson not having had any classical singing training, a career was born. And since then Watson has ruled supreme in the classical crossover arena, equally at home crooning or singing classic arias, with his voice growing in power and clarity.

'Watson demonstrates his ability to interpret a song and connect with his audience. Bring Him Home is maybe the most challenging of these, and Watson’s performance is technically and dramatically adept.'

'This is undoubtedly a barnstorming and crowd-pleasing performance from Watson and the other performers ecstatically received by the audience.

Ahead of Russell's concert in Bournemouth in May ,this article is in the Bournemouth Echo

Why star Russell Watson is keen to stay in the spotlight
SINGING star Russell Watson is visiting Bournemouth next month as part of his nationwide tour.
This week he talks to The Guide about how his near death experience changed his outlook on life, and why he is determined to sustain his music career - just don’t ask him to sing Nessun Dorma!

Russell who will visit the BIC on May 12, says he always looks forward to visiting Bournemouth.
“I always love Bournemouth because it’s right by the seaside and I always do a few seaside gags. It’s a good size place and people are usually up for a good time.
“This time we are taking the orchestra and we will perform a mixture of everything I’ve recorded over the last 17 years combined with material from my new album. I like to involve the audience too and have a laugh with them.”
